Qatsi'nangwa - Life of Good Will

A couple journeys through life with goodwill and blessings surrounded with elements of life. A blue corn plant, a unique crop grown by the Hopi in the desert, stands with a woman in traditional dress with corn seed designs. Corn is not only food, but it is also a part of ceremonies and rituals. A prayer bundle and shield rise next to a Hopi male whose clothing carries water symbols. The prayer bundle is a blessing not only to the couple but of all life that surrounds them. The shield is the protection of family and carries the symbol for this Earth, the Fourth World to the Hopi people. Gathering around the couple are butterflies symbolized as flowers, who represent moisture and the life-giving rains that come to the desert land. Above the couple within the cosmos is the sun and stars with a spiral representing the journey the couple takes through life.
Acid-free photo paper is used to print the artwork, and smudge-, fade-, and water-resistant inks ensure a lasting print. The 11x14 inch (27.9x35.5 cm) matted print includes a bevel-cut matte, backing board, description, artist biography, and cultural details. An envelope safeguards the print, and matted print will fit a standard frame; image of framed print is included to show possibilities, frame is not included.
