A butterfly and dragonflies flutter in their cloud houses as they announce the arrival of moisture-laden clouds. Rain clouds surround the insects from the horizon, a promise of life-giving water to a desert land. For the Hopi people of the southwest, butterflies and dragonflies are associated with rain clouds as both arrive during the monsoon seasons in spring. These colorful insects are also related to the bright flowers, both of which come in abundance with the rain.
