With a prayer bundle of corn and feathers, a parrot gathers these good blessings outward toward the world. The indigenous people of the southwest have traded parrots and their feathers from native groups in what is now Mexico for over two millennia. The Parrot represents the direction south and the color red which is found in the rainbows that arrive with the rain clouds.
