Native Seed Search Catalog Cover

Recently I was contacted by a great non-profit Organization Native Seed Search. This company which also carries some of our prints and notecards asked me to design a cover for their new seed catalog. You can purchase a PDF format of the catalog here. Their mission is "Native Seeds/SEARCH seeks to find, protect and preserve the seeds of the people of the Greater Southwest so that these arid adapted crops may benefit all peoples and nourish a changing world". You can visit their website at www.nativeseeds.org The catalog not only list the seeds they carry but also information on growing and caring for these unique plants. The cover depicts a blue corn plant with rain cloud symbols surrounded by other plants grown by southwest indigenous people. Surrounding the plants are flower blossoms which also represent butterflies, both appearing during the monsoons.
